Make Music Lagos

In Nigeria, Make Music Lagos will celebrate its fifth year on June 21st, 2020. The events have grown to include over 100 offerings for the Lagos community, including songwriting workshops, DJ lessons, small ensembles, music business networking, and a main stage performance.
 

After a pilot program in 2016, music retailer Showgear has grown Make Music Lagos to encompass over 100 performances around the city every year. Recent highlights have included interactive Street Studios, “learn to DJ” classes, play-along drumming events, free concerts by Nigerian superstars (included King Sunny Adé), and a “New Music Marathon” giving artists the chance to have their music played on the radio for the first time.
