The day’s events included flagship performances scheduled in England, Wales, and Scotland. In London, Kinetika Bloco paraded the Low Line through the railway arches of London Bridge to Potters Fields, including a series of music experiences in parks, entrances to bars, and other places and spaces along the way arriving. They ended at The Scoop amphitheater on the banks of the River Thames. Once there, music fans were treated to performances by Smiley and the Underclass, Hotsteppas, THe PETEBOX, Afla Sackey and Afrik Bawantu.
Additionally, a group in Abington set up a charity for the event and got local businesses involved to have Make Music Day at many venues. In Durham, the arts hub organized 150 performances with young people, involving over 17,000 children that day! Over 100 events took place in library spaces.
