Make Music Boise is a live, free musical celebration on June 21, the longest day of the year, with concerts on streets, sidewalks, and parks across the city.
Boise, get ready to join the worldwide celebration of music on June 21!
Make Music is a free celebration of music around the world on June 21st. Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries. Boise’s Cultural Ambassador organization, Global Lounge is leading the charge in launching Boise’s most musical citywide holiday and an exciting way to connect, create and enjoy music throughout the community.
Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion — pours onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. All of it is free and open to the public.
YOU are invited to participate as a musician, a host to performers or join in as a spectator to soak up the musical magic that will take place around our lovely city.
Make Music Day Boise is your opportunity to share the joy of music with your friends and neighbors and to fill the air with Boise’s diverse and vibrant harmonies. It’s our day to celebrate, as one big community, our shared love of music. Whether you host musicians, perform or join a mass music-creation event, Make Music Day invites everyone to experience live music outdoors TOGETHER! Come on Boise, let the music and the good times roll!
It’s easy to get involved!

Make Music Boise is a volunteer-organized event and thrives on the support of our community.
The work of small army of volunteers makes it possible to pull this off on such a limited budget, but unavoidable costs remain, including: publicity and advertising that are critical to the success of the event, software development for the matchmaking system, and the administrative aspects of the project (and the supporting Non-Profit organization Global Lounge), and many smaller items such as insurance and event permitting.
Help cover these costs, and be part of bringing a full day of musical magic to the summer solstice!
Make Music Boise is free and open to the public and your contributions and support make it all possible!
