Make Music Chequamegon Bay is a FREE musical celebration on June 21 - the Summer Solstice - and happening on sidewalks and in parks in Ashland, Washburn, Bayfield, Red Cliff, Bad River & Cornucopia
What is “Make Music Chequamegon Bay”?
Make Music Chequamegon Bay is part of a global music celebration happening in over 1,000 cities and 120 countries world-wide on June 21st – the Summer Solstice. It’s free. It’s outdoors. And children, students, amateurs, and professionals are all invited to get outside and make music along-side hundreds of millions of people all over the world for “Make Music Day”.
Make Music Chequamegon Bay will be a multi-city and town festival that will take place from 2-7pm with a FREE Grand Finale Community Sing-Along event at Big Top Chautauqua: “Big Top Big Sing” 7:30pm
Our 2020 inaugural celebration happens to land on Father’s Day this year, and will be happening in Ashland, Washburn, Bayfield, Red Cliff, Bad River, and Cornucopia. Parks, porches, sidewalks, parking lots, and business fronts all over our area will be filled with music being played and/or sung outside and under awnings. People may find themselves serenaded by a guitar soloist, or a choir, a rock band, or an accordion group, some flute players, a barbershop quartet, a string ensemble, a mass guitar band, a drum circle – or maybe even ukuleles or kazoos! Solos, duos, trios, quartets etc…The possibilities are limitless. Residents (and visitors) are invited to travel around Chequamegon Bay to see and hear their neighbors play and enjoy live music!
It’s a DIY celebration when almost any way to make music can and will happen – ANYWHERE
