Make Music Day is going virtual this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Typically featuring over 5,000 free outdoor concerts, performances, music lessons, jam sessions and other musical events on streets, sidewalks, parks and other public spaces across the U.S., this year’s celebration will take a virtual approach to encourage all people, of all musical abilities, to celebrate the joy of making music. We welcome musicians from all genres, cultures and ability to share your creativity through our online projects with the citizens and visitors of Washington, DC and with the world.
As an artist: We welcome all artists to join us. Submit up to 3 of your videos to our virtual video wall and join us in sharing the wall on Make Music Day. More information about the Virtual Wall and how to add your videos. Sign up for one or more of our online events offered on Saturday (SAW’s Virtual Community Day). We have a full day of workshops, sing-alongs, song circles, song critiques. Plus recording, singing, and performing demonstrations. Pro advice from industry leaders. With a few celebrities from the LA music scene to boot! All online. More info about online event offerings and how to register HERE.
As a venue/music fan: Even though this year you won’t be able to attend live performances as part of Make Music Day, we are still all about celebrating music and musicians of all kinds and all about free. Please visit our Virtual Video wall to listen to videos and check out new and your favorite artists. Share the wall with your friends and family.
