Welcome to our Virtual “Bash the Trash” Instrument Building Party
Did you know April 22, 2020 is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day? Starting on Earth Day and running through Make Music Hartford on June 21st, we’ll be sharing ways for you to build instruments out of materials you might normally throw away. Our friends at the Make Music Alliance and Bash the Trash have put together videos and downloadable instructions you can use at home to make fun instruments with cans, scraps of wood, paper towel tubes, and more.
Let’s get out there and play to thank medical professionals and essential workers! Our challenge to you:
- Build an instrument using the Bash the Trash videos and instructions below
- Practice playing your new instrument
- Post a video of yourself or your family playing these instruments on social media with the hashtag #MakeMusicHartford along with a thank you message, song, or dance for those who are working hard to keep us all safe and healthy.
