Iowa City Sousapalooza

Since 2011, Make Music has pioneered the “Sousapalooza” – an invitation for brass, wind and percussion players to come together and sightread music by The March King, John Philip Sousa. Iowa City Sousapalooza will be June 21st at 7:00pm on the East/Clinton Street side of the Old Capitol Building (21 N Clinton St, Iowa City, IA 52242). Download the music, bring your horn, a chair, a music stand and join the band! No fees, no rehearsals – just fun!

In 2017, the first-ever Iowa City Sousapalooza had 50 participants who sounded amazing! We hope 2018 will be even bigger and even better!

In the event of inclement evening weather, watch this webpage and your e-mail for an update on June 21st. The rain site will be in the Voxman Music Building (93 E. Burlington St.) in the Dr. Myron D. Welch Rehearsal Room (#2451). Go to the second floor, go down the hallway and it is the orange room on your right.
