“Shake, Shake, Shake It Up” was Make Music Day Debut Theme Song at Macon Downtown Boogie” Make Music Day Worldwide Celebration in the City of Macon, Georgia on June 21.

This song was composed by Gloria Stanley, singer/songwriter, Winner of the Community Foundation of Central Georgia Downtown Community Challenge Grant.  She composed this song as the theme for Make Music Day jubilation experienced around the world as a day of love, happiness and unity in music on June 21.

The song was recorded at Joey Stuckey’s Shadow Sound Studio located in the heart of downtown Macon.  And Joey is very special and amazing.  He is totally blind from a brain tumor, and a perfectionist at his art.

“Macon Downtown Boogie” will get started at 2:00 PM on the stage at the intersection of 3rd Street Park and Cherry Street in downtown Macon and around the City, and end at 7:00 PM.

There will be pop-up performances in 3rd Street Park/Cherry, and artist performing at venues around the city until 7:00 PM.

After 7, Ampersand Guild will continue “Macon Downtown Boogie” Make Music Day Worldwide Celebration at its Open Mic on 382 Cherry Street.

Make Music Day is a free celebration of music around the world on June 21st. Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 800 cities in 120 countries.

Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music Day is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion — pours onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. All of it is free and open to the public.
