Mass Appeal, part of Make Music Day, brings together thousands of musicians - of all levels and ages - to make music in large, single-instrument groups. The following free events, open to all, will take place on June 21, 2020.
Children and adults will be given the chance to make music together using the innovative brightly colored pBuzz – a brass-like instrument that’s easy for young children to play - even if they have never played a musical instrument. The session, ‘I Feel Good About Music’ is being directed by ulian Champion of the West Point School of Music and children of all ages are invited to participate. The West Point School of Music was founded in 2011 but it’s roots extend for decades of music education. The non-profit prevents juvenile violence and promotes academic and personal success among urban youth through quality in-school, after-school and out of school music instruction and performance programs in areas in Chicago that need it most. Their Mission is to engage urban youth through music instruction and performance; cultivating artistically connected, socially conscious, productive adults.
