Mass Appeal, part of Make Music Day, brings together thousands of musicians - of all levels and ages - to make music in large, single-instrument groups. The following free events, open to all, took place on June 21, 2016.

Music for Four Pianos

Pianists Hitomi Honda and Karl Larson, along with other guest pianists, explore the sonic possibilities of one, two, and even four grand pianos playing together outside the Cornelia Street Café.  There will also be a participatory piece from 3-4pm entitled "but what about the noise of the percussive piano - an homage to John Cage", for which audience members are invited to bring resonant objects (glass bottles, ceramic plates, metal pipes, etc.).  Full line up includes:
