Sad girl folk music.
Rebecca Karpen is a New York-based singer-songwriter. Usually accompanied by unintentionally aggressive strumming on ukulele or guitar, she writes songs about her own life because it gives her an excuse to talk about herself uninterrupted for long periods of time. Having grown up entirely around folk music as a kid, with the closest thing to a rock influence she experienced being the Beatles, much of Rebecca's music builds on singer-songwriter and folk tradition, with original ballads about criminals, drinking-songs about Jeb Bush, and boys who have broken her heart. She promises she is much more interesting than she sounds.
She has music currently up on all major streaming services and is currently recording an album that she wrote while in Berlin during the summer.
