Peace of Heart Choir

Founded after 9/11, our volunteer New York City Choir brings healing, community and diversity to communities in need across New York City.

Peace of Heart Choir, founded in the wake of the 9/11 tragedies, brings healing music to communities in need across the five boroughs of New York City. Our Partners have included hospitals, rehabilitation units, organizations that support the homeless; veterans; adults with mental challenges; and more. We also present two benefit concerts a year for the general community. Our multilanguage choral repertoire features diverse genres and musical traditions from around the world. In the past two years alone, we have explored songs in Mandarin, Spanish, Maori, Hindi, Russian, German, Irish Gaelic, French, Hebrew, and several African languages, including Swahili, Luo, and Zulu. Our singing styles include American Pop, Broadway/Show Tunes, Folk, Rock, R&B/Soul, Reggae, Latin, Jazz, Choral, Classical, Jewish, Americana, and Indian Classical/Fusion, Tamil Folk, Japanese Pop, Arabic, Bollywood, and Zambian a cappella.
