Barry Kay

Smooth, laid-back tenor/baritone vocal with finger-style acoustic folksy/jazzy/classic guitar (influenced by early 70's singer/songwriters)

Barry Kay has been performing live solo folk, classical, pop & jazz music in Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Texas, Ohio and New York for over 20 years. He studied classical guitar with David Walbert (who studied with André Segovia), and played with & opened for Boots Randolph, Truth, Roddy McDowell, Lee Marshall, etc.. Barry has played at the Blue Bird Cafe in Nashville, the C-Note in New York, and he recently completed his 4th independent CD. He has written & directed musicals, led rehearsals for church praise bands & choirs, taught music for kids at camps, conducted ensembles & small horn sections, sang & played on local TV, and improvised medleys of cover tunes before live audiences. He currently teaches and works with musicians in various churches, cafés, & music studios.
