Make Music Twin Cities is a live, free musical celebration on June 21, the longest day of the year, with concerts on streets, sidewalks, and parks across our fair cities.

TWIN CITIES JAZZ FEST
Live Jazz music in several Lowertown St. Paul locations including Mears Park, Black Dog Cafe, Union Depot, Barrio, Big River Pizza, Green Lantern, Hat Trick Lounge, TPT Street Space, Studio Z. Other locations in St. Paul and near Lowertown that are part of Twin Cities Jazz Fest include Vieux Carre (Hamm Building), Lobby Bar in St. Paul Hotel, Citizen inside Intercontinental Hotel, French Hen Cafe and Episcopal Homes. Enjoy the music of McFoxxy Tann, Epitome No Question, Genital Panic Featuring Tina Schlieske, Venus Demars and All the Pretty Horses, Dykes Do Drag and Static Panic. A portion of the event proceeds will benefit OutFront Minnesota. Their mission is to create a state where lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people are free to be who they are, love who they love, and live without fear of violence, harassment or discrimination.

SCHOOL OF ROCK EDEN PRAIRIE OPENS ITS
PRIVATE MUSIC VENUE TO THE PUBLIC FOR MAKE MUSIC DAY
School of Rock Eden Prairie is home to The Club House, a private music venue that is reserved for the School’s adult performance students. This year they are opening the Club House to bands to play and to the general public to come enjoy music for free.
Stop by anytime 12noon – 9:00pm to enjoy live music.

A Twin Cities favorite among kids, the Teddy Bear Band is performing in Mahtomedi on Make Music Day. Bring the little ones and watch their faces light up as they wiggle and dance to fun tunes.

Groth Music is hosting several activities throughout Make Music Day. No reservations required. Just stop by and join in on the music.
10 AM – 6 PM Live Streaming of Make Music Events from Around the World.
Groth Music will be one of a select few locations that will be streaming live video (and sometimes audio) of Make Music Events as they occur around the world. Stop in and see how others are celebrating the day, and check out one of our live jams too!
10 AM – 11 AM Open Uke Jam Hosted by Dukes of Ukes (Youth Group)
This jam will be especially youth friendly, hosted by The Dukes of Ukes. Bring your own uke and join the fun, or buy one today at Groth and have these friendly and talented kids help you out!
11 AM – 1 PM Open Uke Jam Hosted by Twin Cities Uke Club (All Ages)
This group has been jamming at Groth Music for many years and has become part of the Groth family! All ages and levels are invited and you’ll feel welcomed by these great folks. The group typically uses the “Yellow Book” available at Groth which has 365 popular and fun songs. Bring your own uke, or arrive early and buy your first one from us!
2 PM – 4 PM Open Jazz Jam Hosted by Groth Staff (All levels, all instruments, voice)
Bring your own instrument or voice and join our house rhythm section for some jazz! We’ll have music stands, fake books, microphones and some talented staff ready to back you up. If you’re a rhythm section player, our house band will happily step aside for some songs so that you can play!

LEBANON HILL REGIONAL PARK [EAGAN]
Enjoy the Latin sounds of Mariachi Jalisco de Minnesota at Eagan’s Summer Solstice Party in Lebanon Hills Regional Park. Live music, yard games, food and fun. Concessions available from El Burrito Mercado On Wheels food truck. Appropriate for all ages. Come dressed for the weather. This event is outside. Bring a blanket or chair.

Performers: Create your profile by submitting a photo, description of your act, and any relevant website/social media links. Check out the available venues and bid on one that will fit your needs. The venue will confirm your request, and you’re good to go.
Venues: Create a profile by submitting your location information and a description of the space. Peruse the musician profiles to request a performance, or welcome musicians to bid on your space independently. Confirm the connection and make sure your space is ready to go on June 21st!
