Anyone and everyone is invited to participate in Make Music Day on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. All age groups, skill levels, and type of music are welcome! Check back often for updates on events!

We are constantly adding programming for this year and solidifying details. You may see some of the exciting events we have planned below!
10:30am Heid Music – Mayor Jake Woodford will be issuing and official Make Music Day Proclamation at Heid Music
11:00-11:25am Heid Music – Clarissa Brisk, elementary school music teacher will be leading a workshop for students ages 6-10.
11:00-11:50am Lawrence University Grove – Lawrence University will be facilitating a Gamelan workshop. Gamelan refers to an ensemble of traditional percussion-keyed instruments, including gongs, drums, metallophones and bamboo flutes from Indonesia. All ages can experience and learn Gamelan.
11:30-11:55am Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, Outside – Appleton Public Library will present a participatory musical story time. This event will engage audience members and take them on a musical journey!
12:00-12:50pm Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, Outside – Come learn to play the Jumbie Jam!
12:00-12:50pm Heid Music – Make Music with a STEM based Makey Makey kit!
12:30-1:20pm Lawrence University Grove – Lawrence University will be hosting a Ghanaiian Drumming/Dance workshop. The interactive workshop is designed for both the young and the young at heart. This style of music utilizes a call and response between the lead drum and the rest of the ensemble.
1:00-1:50pm Heid Music – Local acoustic guitar and brass instrumental duo Two Old Flats featuring fiddle tunes, polkas, waltzes, rags and more!
2:00-2:25pm Heid Music – Clarissa Brisk, elementary school music teacher will be leading a workshop for students ages 6-10.
2:30-3:20pm Heid Music – Kat Flan will perform on a variety of instruments and play some of the greatest hits in both Spanish and English. Join Kat Flan for an engaging and groovy experience.
2:30-3:20pm Lawrence University Grove – Lawrence University will be hosting a Ghanaiian Drumming/Dance workshop. The interactive workshop is designed for both the young and the young at heart. This style of music utilizes a call and response between the lead drum and the rest of the ensemble.
3:30-4:20pm Lawrence University Grove – Lawrence University will be hosting a Bucket Drumming program. This program is a fun and interactive way to make music with every day objects.
3:30-4:20pm Heid Music – Make Music with a STEM based Makey Makey kit!
4:30-5:20pm Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, Outside – IndUS of Fox Valley will demo a variety of music, musical instruments, and dance styles (classical and folk) aimed at getting people involved.
4:30-5:20pm Heid Music – Uke Jam, hosted by Greg Forton, member of Forte and the Pianissimos. We recommend bringing your own uke, but Heid Music will have a limited supply of ukuleles available to be used if you do not own a uke!
5:30-6:00pm Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, Outside – Pita from Unity the Band will lead a closing event that will engage the audience and have active participation. It will be a great way to close Make Music Appleton and get community members involved!
