Janesville singer/songwriter Matthew Buckley straddles the line between pastoral hippie folkie and lo-fi indie troubadour. Influenced by classic folk/rock and Americana acts such as Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Bob Dylan and the Grateful Dead, as well as more contemporary indie groups such as The Apples in Stereo and Neutral Milk Hotel. Buckley’s original songs range from introspective and reflective meditations on the self and the world, to playful and carefree declarations of joy, to simple jaunty tunes – not to mention a bit of social and political commentary.
