About…
Welcome to Make Music Big Bear 2025!
Come join our 5th Year of Live Music in the Village of Big Bear Lake. The line up is all local talent, the venues are our local businesses, and the audience is everyone who is in town.
Make Music Day is a live, free musical celebration on June 21, the longest day of the year – the Summer Solstice. Launched in France 1982 as Féte de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries.
Growing, you bet! This event is getting huge, and the town is loving this. With over eighteen (20) business locations participating, sixteen (18) in the Village and two (2) in the Moonridge Corridor, hosting over 100 musicians/bands on Village Drive, Pine Knot Avenue, and Moonridge Road. With more hours to fit in all the musicians and performers we have expanded our hours from 12:00 pm to 9 pm on Saturday, June 21 in Big Bear Lake. Along with timed performers at set locations, you will find Busking…. you mean street musicians, yes busking. Some of us like to just let it out no matter where we are. This is all for our community enjoyment and your listening ears, so come on into town, enjoy free music, and help us celebrate Make Music Big Bear!
Our hosting venues for 2025 are: The Elks Lodge, Old German Deli, Stillwells Restaurant, Stella Luna, Oakside Restaurant and Bar, Amangela’s Sandwich and Bagel House, Queen Bee Honey Shop, Whiskey Dave’s, Barrel 33, Muchacos Tortilla Bar, Village Sports Bar, La Pergola Trattoria, Copper Q, A Christmas Store N More, Sotheby’s Real Estate, SoCalResorts/Compass Real Estate, Alchemistic Workshop, Nottinghams Tavern Patio, Moonridge Room, and Moonridge Coffee.
And once again we will be presenting the popular Open Mic at the Copper Q outdoor patio stage, with varied musicians every 30 minutes. Hey, if you play, sing, humm a toon, come on down and get your name on the list. Share your talent with us all.
We invite all musicians and singers, circle drummers, bucket drummers, and instrumentalists of all kinds to collaborate on making June 21 a huge musical celebration. Singers, church choirs, jazz combos, rock bands, glee clubs, mariachis, marching bands, and every other kind of musician, of any age group or skill level, are all welcome. How about a percussion or horn group rocking out while walking down the streets? Come make it happen. Contact us and we will make sure you get on the schedule.

You want to get in on some action?
Pull out your old tuba, trumpet, or whatever horn you have and grab some friends and create your own doo day marching band. Even it’s only two or three of you. Start that family kazoo band you have always thought about creating. Do you sing with your keyboard or accordion, or just play your accordion, we want to hear from you. This celebration is open to anyone, or any degree of talent. Got a comedy routine you can put to music in some form? Own a slide whistle? A flute? A bird whistle?
• Volunteers – Did you say volunteers? Yes, we need you this year. Hanging banners, setting up EZ-UPs for shade, running extensions chords around. Helping hands are needed. Set it up and tear it down. Contact us! Find our contact info at the very bottom of this website.
If you did not get in on the action this year by performing, contact us so we can include you in next year’s Make Music Event. Got a group of horn players, piano players, ukulele players, we want you. Would you like to parade up the street with a gang of kazoo players, come on out and let’s make this happen. We are open to all ideas and all levels of beginners to professional players. After all, this is a free day of music, all are welcome!
