Make Music Charlotte is a live, free musical celebration on June 21, the longest day of the year, with concerts on streets, sidewalks, and parks across the city.
Make Music Day start in France, 1982. France’s Ministry of Culture dreamed up an idea for a new kind of musical holiday. They created a full day where free, live music would be everywhere: street corners and parks, rooftops and gardens, store fronts and mountaintops.
Unlike a typical music festival, anyone and everyone would be invited to join and play music or host performances. The event would take place on the summer solstice, June 21, and would be called Fête De La Musique. (In French, the name means both “festival of music” and “make music!”)
Make Music Charlotte wants to keep the spirit of Fête De La Musique alive by celebrating Make Music Day on June 21. Anyone and everyone are invited to find a way to celebrate and make music! We invite YOU to celebrate Make Music Day with us!
There’s always room in the band!
We invite all musicians of all kinds to celebrate Make Music Day with us! Whether you are a choir, guitarist, glee club, rapper, violinist, jazz band, or anyone that makes music – we invite you to perform with us. Contact us at email@example.com to discuss in-person or virtual performances.

We are looking for any venue/place to create music including cafes, restaurants, street corners, balconies, and so on. We are also looking for any performers including singers, drummers, musicians, piano players, guitar teachers, ukulele teachers, music teachers, choirs, and anyone that can make music who wants to get others listening and involved in making music too.
