Volunteer Meeting & Chattanooga Girls Rock Showcase This Saturday!

July 21, 2016

Today marks one month since Make Music Chattanooga! We successfully brought a HUGE brand new event to Chattanooga with less than a year to plan. I’m excited to see what we can accomplish with more experience, more time, and more volunteers. After a month of rest, we are back to supporting our music community and planning for next year’s main event.

Get ready for an afternoon with your Make Music family this Saturday, July 23rd! At around 3:30 we will meeting at our favorite meeting place, The Well, located at 1800 Rossville Ave. BUT before we sit down to talk shop, we will be cheering on the 2016 Chattanooga Girls Rock bands at their showcase.

The Chattanooga Girls Rock camp will be wrapping up a week of creating, collaborating, learning and rockin’ with a showcase of the camp bands featuring Beverly “Guitar” Watkins.

This all ages event will be held at the Revelry Room, doors will open at noon and the show will begin with the legendary, Beverly “Guitar” Watkins at 1:00pm. Tickets are only $10 and the proceeds will help fund next year’s camp. Buy tickets for yourself and the young music lovers you know here.

Directly following the showcase, we are going to regroup at The Well to go over:
– What during Make Music Chattanooga (MMC) went well and what needs improvement
– Follow up questions to ask the performers
– Our timeline/to-do list for becoming a non-profit & MMC ‘17
– Plans for our Startup Week Chattanooga event and registering our event
– Establishing our Board of Directors & Committees
– Brainstorming for next year

Email your ideas, questions and suggestions to chattanooga@makemusicday.org, so we don’t forget to bring them up during the meeting.

If you have a friend who wants to get involved, please bring them with you. See you Saturday!

Chatt Girls Rock has supported MMC since the beginning. This year they co-hosted the petting zoo.
