MAKE MUSIC CHEQUAMEGON BAY is a free, Chequamegon Bay area-wide celebration of neighbors going outside and making music as part of National Make Music Day.  Featuring music makers of all ages and abilities, this event is sponsored by the La Pointe Center for the Arts, Madeline Island Chamber of Commerce, and Create Wisconsin.

Beginning in 1982 in France as a national holiday known as “Le Féte de la Musique,” this event has grown to over 1000 cities and towns in over 120 countries and is now known worldwide as MAKE MUSIC DAY.  MAKE MUSIC CHEQUAMEGON BAY is a proud participant in this worldwide phenomenon.

Make Music Chequamegon Bay events on Friday, June 21 (updated regularly): 

Ashland
Garland City Consort, with a concert of baroque music at the Ashland Band Shell, 6 pm

Madeline Island
General schedule as of 4-23-24 – keep checking back for more info!
Hosted by the La Pointe Center for the Arts and Madeline Island Chamber of Commerce

10:00 am –  Band(s) on ferry – march to LeSeur Street Cafe and perform  (MI local band & Bayfield HS)

11:00 am – 12:00 noon  – Youth & other scheduled performances on the island

12:00-12:45 pm  – Open jam sessions – locations TBA

12:45 -1:00/15 pm –  Flash parade begins at St. John’s Church and travels to LeSeur Street Cafe

1:15-4:00  pm –  Scheduled performances and/or join in jam sessions

4:30 pm    –   Music Camp (Happy Hour) at Bell Street Gallery (tentative) 

6:00 – 8:00 pm  Polka party at LeSeur Street Cafe

7:30 pm – Music Camp Performances at location TBA

8:00 pm – ?  Music at Tom’s Burned Down Cafe
