Hobe Kytr

Hobe Kytr has been writing, collecting, and performing original and traditional songs of the Northwest for more than 45 years, as well as performing with multiple old-time stringbands over the years. He spent 15 years as a museum professional at the Columbia River Maritime Museum and the Ilwaco Heritage Museum in Pacific County Washington, and the last 14 years of his career running a fishery office. Since 1998, Hobe has been a performer at the annual Fisher Poets Gathering in Astoria, for which he also is a founding member of the organizing committee. He has been a resident of Astoria for more than three decades.
