Make Music Davis 2021 will be celebrated this year by using audio and video streaming following our current local COVID-19 social distancing guidelines.
Tune in/stream our special broadcast of the Make Music Davis – DIMI Showcase on grassroots community radio KDRT 95.7FM at 10 -11 AM and 6 – 7 PM, or you can connect via the Davis Media Access YouTube link that goes live at midnight on June 21st.
The Make Music Davis – DIMI Showcase 2021 highlights five emerging local young musicians/bands from the Davis Independent Music Initiative (DIMI) project recorded by Davis Media Access at the City of Davis Veterans Memorial Theatre.
These original works/performances vary from improvisation jazz guitar, to spoken word narrative, to vintage psychedelic guitar compositions, to pop and alternative rock/punk.
The June 21st KDRT 95.7 FM special broadcast continues from 11 AM – 1 PM airing special extended live recordings of performances from Davis Independent Music Initiative (DIMI) 2021 Award winner Boca do Rio, and from multi-SAMMIE Award winners The Nickel Slots. We will also be featuring some highlight performances from the well-loved Thursday Live! community concert series recorded live from Davis Odd Fellows Hall.
We are grateful to the City of Davis Arts and Cultural Affairs Program for providing partial support to Davis Media Access to host and organize the event.
