Molly Murphy

Molly Murphy is a recent graduate from the University of Notre Dame who is now down in Nashville full time. While at Notre Dame she was the lead singer and wrote the original songs for Nickels and Dimes, a band that performed locally around South Bend. She was awarded a competitive grant by The University of Notre Dame the summer before her senior year to come to Nashville and work for the company Carnival Music. Now a solo act, Molly has been described as “a young promising songwriter with a big heart,” by music industry professionals and her voice and style has been compared to Joni Mitchell and Simon & Garfunkel. Molly released her debut EP this past January, to critical praise. “She shines throughout,” said Jonathan Frahm of the For Folk’s Sake blog, “leaving a firm impression on the For Folk’s Sake squad and having us yearn for more.” The EP was played on Radio Sobro, WMOT Roots Radio, and WRFL. Molly is excited to return to her hometown of Fairfield for Make Music Day.
