Ed Fast and Congabop

Join the biggest music and dance party of Make Music Hartford with Afro-Cuban influenced rhythms and hard-bop harmonies of crowd favorite, Ed Fast and Congabop. As the leader of Congabop, Ed Fast is a celebrated figure in Hartford. This versatile, Hartt School-trained percussionist is at home with symphony orchestras, premier Broadway shows, or gigging in the bands of legendary favorites like Aretha Franklin. A bandleader, composer, arranger and much-in-demand percussionist, Fast is a multi-instrumentalist who plays drums, timbales, congas and vibes. Congabop, the hottest Afro-Cuban jazz band in the Northeast will bring its full complement of bass, guitar, vocals and the always-incredible horn section anchored by Steve Davis and Joshua Bruneau, and will be joined by a powerhouse of percussion with virtuoso bongocero Anthony Carrillo adding to the dynamic duo of Ed Fast and Jorge Viera Fuentes.
