Make Music Day Kenosha 2022 Block Party and More

Free outdoor, music-making events planned as part of annual global celebration

Make Music Day Kenosha returns June 21, 2022

Free, family-friendly, outdoor music-making event a part of the annual global celebration

KENOSHA ⸺ The annual Make Music Day Kenosha unites a wonderful community of people, performers, and musicians for an all-day, outdoor, musical celebration on June 21, 2022.

Make Music Day Kenosha is a part of Make Music Day ⸺ a global music celebration that takes place on the summer solstice. The event brings people of all ages and skill levels together to make music for a whole day.

Make Music Day began in France in 1982 as the Fête de la Musique, and has spread to over 1,000 cities across 120 countries. Completely different from a typical musical festival, Make Music Day concerts are performed by anyone who takes part and enjoyed by everyone who attends.

From classical to folk, hip-hop to opera, Latin jazz to punk rock, live music of all kinds resounds throughout the streets, sidewalks, porches, plazas, parks, gardens, storefronts and other public spaces on the longest day of the year.

Kenosha is proud to be one of over 80 US cities that will host thousands of Make Music Day performances across the country as a part of the world’s largest annual music festival.

Make Music Day Kenosha invites everyone to make June 21 a musical masterpiece by participating in our annual Block Party. The Block Party will take place on 57th Street between 6th Avenue and 7th Avenue in beautiful downtown Kenosha, WI.

Singers, songwriters, choirs, jazz combos, rock bands, glee clubs, emcees, marching bands, mariachis, and every other kind of musician of any age or skill level are all welcome.

All interested performers can take part by signing up at http://www.makemusicday.org/kenosha/.

Registration is free and opens on May 1, 2022. And will close on June 1, 2022.

Likewise, businesses, venues, schools, churches, and any other organization or institution are invited to participate by offering their outdoor space or stage as music-making locations, or by sponsoring an event during the Block Party.

A full schedule of events will be posted at http://www.makemusicday.org/kenosha
