Call for Musicians

Make Music is a free celebration of music around the world on June 21st. Launched in 1982 in France as Fête de la Musique, it is now observed on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries.

Make Music Day is a way to support local and global musical talents that you might only discover on this day. We want to celebrate those talents and passions, but also have another avenue for all artists to get paid and recognized for the hard work they do every day,” Make Music Alliance Member, David Senk said.

This year, due to COVID-19 we will live stream and post videos to our Facebook Page. In addition we are partnering with local presenters to showcase local, regional and global talent.

Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone who wants to take part. Musicians— from young  to  seasoned, amateur and professional, of any musical  style— pour onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. All of it is free and open to the public.

We will start accepting registrations on May 26, 2020, and continue accepting entries until the day of the event, Sunday, June 21, 2020.  Performance listings go live on June 1, so stay tuned. Make sure to fill out all information. The link will post Tuesday, May 26, 2020 on our Make Music Day, Las Cruces Facebook and webpage

Due to COVID-19 and state shutdowns, many performance venues and small businesses are trying to cope with the loss of business and provide some needed relief in the form of music and art.

Submission details:  Free and open to all. Currently no entry free for performers or venues (local presenters) who want to present and to promote local artists, while organically growing their own social media channels.

If you are an experimental sound or performance artist, who uses music in your work, please do not hesitate to apply.

Performers/teachers/venues will have some access to tutorials, links and ideas on how to livestream and post their musical talents. Unfortunately, due to the short planning timeline we have limited space for social media training sessions. Learn more about ways to live stream and submit videos and photos, here:

All digital submissions must be through registration in a link.

All images must reflect original work and the artist must own the copyright.

Please include in your registration: photo, social media channels, along with any hashtags or mentions of the band in the bio, so you can get more visibility on social media.

We encourage you to Include your PayPal, Venmo or other info for digital tip jar as well.
