Faith Purvis

Equally at home on guitar, piano, and accordion, singer-songwriter Faith Purvis started playing the piano as a little kid, as soon as she was tall enough to reach the keys. She grew up in a musical family, listening to her mom play classical piano and her dad play jazz guitar and the Grateful Dead. She weaves these influences together with blues, folk, melodic pop, and international melodies from Scotland to France to the Balkans. Her original compositions showcase her melodic sensibility and her rich alto voice, with heartfelt and moving lyrics drawing on her own life experience. With influences as diverse as Joni Mitchell, Lucinda Williams and Edith Piaf, she merges musical worlds to create a sound uniquely her own.
