Barry * Got kicked out of 7th grade & had to start over again. * Barely graduated high school * His Mom bought him a banjo in an attempt to keep him occupied, and out of reform school. * Drove through Nashville once - half drunk; don’t remember much. * Got 2nd place in talent contest - lost to an elephant caller Missy * Music school reject * Couldn’t get cast in a musical to save her life - “My mom always said I’d make a great stodgy old maid!” * Asked to practice somewhere else * Praise from fans: * “Her music puts me to sleep every time!” * “You were a lot better than I thought you’d be!”
