Tom Barrett
Tom Barrett is a singer-songwriter formerly of Jersey City, NJ recently transplanted to Nashville, TN. He spent many years playing in various bands, most notably the shoegazey three-piece Overlake, all the while quietly developing a respectable repertoire of his own. Barrett’s own songs show a softer, more vulnerable side, reflective of influences such as Nick Drake, Lou Barlow and Damien Jurado. He’s released a handful of records over the last decade, his most recent being the largely acoustic “You Are and You’ve Always Been” on the Jersey-based Mint 400 label.
