Rie Yamaguchi-Borden
Rie Yamaguchi-Borden, born in Ehime, Japan, has been a part of NYC's vibrant and free-spirited jazz club scene since 1999. Mostly self-taught, Rie has received instruction of great masters Billy Kaye, Byron Landham, Cliff Barbaro, Jason Tieman, Tardo Hammer, and Ehud Asherie. She continues to refine her own voice in the music which gave her something deep—something precious to live for: a desire to express all that life has to offer as soulfully and honestly as possible. She strives to refine her craft as both jazz drummer and vocalist in NYC where like-minded artists congregate night after night.
