Barry Kay

Barry Kay has been performing live music professionally for 30 years. He learned acoustic guitar by listening to early '70s singer-songwriters like James Taylor, Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, and Jim Croce. He later studied classical guitar at Birmingham-Southern College and has played with & opened for Boots Randolph, Larnell Harris, Roddy McDowell, etc. Barry has performed at the C-Note and The Bitter End in New York, the Blue Bird in Nashville,and the historic Shoals Theater in Florence, AL. He has written, arranged, and recorded 4 independent CDs, and he was musical director for a college production of Godspell and a high school production of Addams Family: The Musical. In addition to being a music teacher for Nature's Classroom and more recently for New York Edge, Barry has organized local community music events in New York and about 6 other states. Barry's other interests include early Church history, music in various languages, and SNL pop culture trivia.
