Lang Lang International Music Foundation Young Scholars
From the heart of Times Square, four pianists – Lang Lang International Music Foundation Young Scholars Aliya Alsafa, Maxim Lando, and Harmony Zhu, joined by Blair McMillan – will perform Albert Lavignac's "Galop-marche" for eight hands on a single Steinway grand piano. The group will also join forces on four-hands pieces by Brahms, Debussy, and Ligeti. In addition, Harmony Zhu and Aliya Alsafa, both Steinway Artists, will perform solo pieces: Ms. Zhu will play Chopin's Sonata in B minor, and Ms. Alsafa will play Beethoven's Appassionata Sonata Mvt. 1, Chopin's Mazurka Op. 14 No. 4, and Prokofiev's Sonata No. 3.
