Tammy “My Tam” Huynh is a Vietnamese American vocalist, composer, and most importantly, a storyteller. She aspires to write music that unites her unique, diverse personal and musical experiences into compelling narratives. She holds the importance of storytelling as paramount and strives to write music that is intelligent, approachable, and empathetic. In May 2018, Huynh received her B.M. in Jazz Studies, Vocal Performance from Temple University’s Honors College. She was initially accepted as a classical piano major but found herself more involved in and drawn to jazz. During her undergraduate career, she had the privilege to study under jazz vocalists, Sachal Vasandani. In addition to her studies at Temple University, she was also a student of Sara Serpa. Huynh will be continuing her jazz studies at the Manhattan School of Music and is projected to receive her Master of Music in 2022.
