Songs for Ekta
"Songs for Ekta" by Darshini, Nanditha, and Bhargavi bring a taste of Indian music to Ridgefield. On the themes of unity (Ekta), patriotism, and hope, the performance presents two songs in three languages (Hindi, Tamil, and English). "Hum Honge Kaamyaab" is a Hindi rendition of the inspirational song We Shall Overcome. "Chinna chinna aasai" is a popular film hit from the Tamil film Roja celebrating the little things in life that nourish us. A medley with its Hindi adaptation rounds out the performance. The trio - amateur singers debuting at Make Music Day - love singing and are excited to share the songs from their days in India in the 90s.
