Blonde Furniture

Blonde Furniture formed as a studio project of singer/songwriter, Bill Dumas, in 1983 with the release of the 12” vinyl EP, “Has More Fun” which charted on the highly regarded Boston Rock Magazine chart. Guest performers included Hugh Birdsall of The Reducers and Tim Stawarz of Roger C. Real. But it wasn’t until 2007 that Blonde Furniture began playing live in its home town of New London, CT, proclaimed by MTV as one of the premiere music hotbeds in the country.. Blonde Furniture’s influences include Husker Du, Joe Jackson, XTC, John Lennon and Johnny Cash. WAIT, what!? Well, BF frontman/drummer (oxymoron) Bill Dumas, had a conversation with Mr. Cash some years ago that inspired Bill to re-visit “Ring of Fire” resulting in a duality of music genres for the band: Americana and indie rock. Today, Blonde Furniture performs in its power trio formation as in it’s early days and also as a five - seven piece Americana ensemble rotating new and original band members.
