Blonde Furniture

Back to back sets by Blonde Furniture and The ToneShifters at RD86! The members of The ToneShifters and Blonde Furniture evolved out of New London’s “Golden Age” of indie rock in the 1980’s. Chris MacKay of the legendary New Johnny Five created the ToneShifters whose music is best described as “Swinginrockabluesabilly.”   Blonde Furniture was solely a studio band until 2008 when Bill Dumas put the live band together and recruited Chris MacKay on percussion and vocals and Sue MacKay on accordion.  Musicians include: Tim Stawarz on lead guitar, Burt Coburn on bass, Bill Dumas on drums, and Matt Jansky (Clothes Pins, Vacant lot) another Towers of New London alumnus will be flying in from Los Angeles to add his unique brand of rhythm guitar. Maestro, Steve Sigel, once again brings his virtuosic violin chops to the Blonde Furniture lineup. This is truly a musically incestuous night which is common in the New London music scene.
