Winston-Salem celebrates our very first Make Music Day on June 21, 2024! FREE musical events will take place across the city as part of a global celebration.
This year, more than 100 U.S. cities and counties, including 13 North Carolina counties, will host thousands of Make Music performances across the country as part of the world’s largest annual music event.

How do I take part in Make Music Winston Salem?

Can anyone participate?
Of course! There’s always room in the band. Individual musicians, rock bands, choirs, jazz combos, glee clubs, ukulele classes, DJs, marching bands, mariachis, and every other kind of musician – of any age or skill level – are invited to participate. Register with your genre and space requirements, and get matched with a host site where you can play music!
What is a host site?
Local businesses including coffee shops, restaurants, bars, stores, galleries, non-profits, coworking spaces, museums, and more are invited to register as a host site. Indicate the type of space you have and the hours that you’re available, and get matched with musicians who will play music at your location!

What happens if it rains?
Make Music Winston-Salem will happen rain or shine! Outdoor events may have rain venues – check the event page for more information.
Where do I buy tickets?/How much does it cost to attend?
All Make Music Winston-Salem events are free and open to the public! Musicians may accept tips, and host venues always appreciate you patronizing their business.
