Sara Su Jones, violin; Tatyana Stepanova, piano

Hailed as a “violinist of enviable gifts” by a Chicago Sun-Times music critic, Sara Su Jones engages audiences with her eclectic, creative programming and by sharing personal insights into the music. The 2022 winner of the American Prize, Sara Su has given recitals in London, Lisbon, Reykjavík, Massachusetts, Washington (DC), and in her native Chicago, where she has been a featured soloist on “Live from WFMT.” She enjoys making music alongside her career as an educator: since 2004, Sara Su, an honors graduate of Harvard and Harvard Law School, has been coaching students throughout the US and abroad on test prep, writing skills, and college admissions. Tatyana Stepanova is a noted performer and teacher, praised as a “fine” and “persuasive” pianist (Chicago Tribune). A Kyiv native and graduate of the Tchaikovsky (Kyiv) and Rimsky-Korsakov (St. Petersburg) State Conservatories, she has performed with members of the CSO and the Lyric Opera of Chicago’s orchestra.
