DJ Slimzy
Houston-born, Madison-based DJ Slimzy grew up listening to and playing classical music and hymns. Jazz came later. He has a musical inclination toward the instrumental, rhythm-driven, repetitive (with variation), and noisy. He first began making a name for himself as a DJ playing international music on WORT 89.9 FM. Since spinning his first LP over the airwaves, he's performed live sets at Lola's Hi/Lo Lounge, Strictly Discs, and Delta Beer Lab, where he hosts a biweekly Vinyl Night as well as the monthly Radiant Rhythms every fourth Saturday. As a DJ, he plays a wide variety of music: house, disco, funk, global groove, hip hop, jazz, indie rock, and some pop. Come have a listen.
