Mozart’s Requiem
A note from conductor Douglas Anderson and producer Melissa Gerstein: “It feels like forever since we were able to experience live music. As New York slowly opens up to live audiences, we are pleased to announce that the popular Mozart’s Requiem will repeat this year IN PERSON as part of the 15th Annual Make Music New York. In past years, our performances of Requiem have proven both popular and profoundly moving. This year, we ask you to join us, again or anew, on June 21 at 7:00 pm (EST) at the North Oculus Plaza at the World Trade Center Campus (corner of Fulton & Church) in an extraordinary event for these times. We are dedicating the program to those taken from us by Covid-19 and singers and instrumentalists from New York CIty and beyond are invited to join us as we both celebrate the summer solstice and fondly remember those we lost by performing Mozart’s profound and solemn work, the Requiem, K626. “
